Salinas Dentist Offers the Latest Dental Technology
April 1, 2016
When you think of technology, you probably picture the latest iPhone, tablet or laptop. But computers and hand-held devices don’t have a monopoly on technology. The advantages of this “brave new world” extend elsewhere, too. Take dentistry, for example. Technology makes a visit to your Salinas dentist at Blanco Circle Dental Care more comfortable, more accurate and faster. Let’s take a look at just some of the technology you’ll find at our office.
Intraoral Cameras
Today, with intraoral cameras, Dr. Klugman and Dr. Bianco can immediately share a clear video of your teeth and mouth on the computer screen right next to the dentist’s chair where you are seated. You’ll be able to see immediately why the dentist is recommending a particular course of treatment for your best oral health care.
Digital X-rays
Gone are the days of x-rays on film that required noxious chemicals and time to develop. Today, we use digital radiography to quickly capture a detailed image of your tooth. You’ll be exposed to less radiation and we can provide an accurate diagnosis more quickly.
Air Abrasion
If the first thing that comes to mind when you have a cavity is the thought of the dentist’s drill, then we have good news for you. With air abrasion, Dr. Klugman and Dr. Bianco can remove decay much more comfortably—and sometimes without the need of local anesthesia—as they prepare your tooth for a filling. Air abrasion also conserves more of your natural tooth structure and reduces the risk of microfractures in your enamel.
DIAGNOdent
This up-to-date technology uses a diode laser to detect tooth decay much earlier than a visual inspection. DIAGNOdent measures laser fluorescence within the mineral structure of your teeth. Normal tooth structure shows little or no fluorescence, while a tooth with decay shows an increased level of fluorescence.
Laser Dentistry
With dental lasers, we can provide comfortable treatment that also reduces healing time and post-procedure bleeding. The laser emits a narrow and intense beam of light that allows for extremely precise work in your mouth.
