Flossing is More Important Than You May Think
April 15, 2014
A lot of people do not understand the importance flossing has on your overall oral health. Believe it or not, flossing every day can add up to six years on your life expectancy, and it eliminates the potential for heart disease, gum disease, and other harmful ailments. When bacteria are left to harden and turn into tartar, a buildup of plaque can wreak havoc on your mouth in a shorter amount of time than you may realize. At Blanco Circle Dental Care, we want to make sure our patients are will informed to ensure clean, healthy mouth!
In order to floss correctly, you must be sure to maneuver the floss up and down in between your teeth. This will be able to loosen and free any remaining food or bacteria. You must also keep in mind that you have to get below the gum line, and to form a C around the sides of the tooth. Be sure not to press down too hard and damage your gums, as this can only do more harm than good.
Flossing is beneficial, not only in keeping your teeth clean and healthy, but also by being able to control bad breath. Without all of the bacteria left sitting in your mouth, your breath will freshen and help you feel more confident in your smile! Getting into the regular habit of flossing everyday can give you a much better result when you go in for your dental checkups, as well as maintaining overall health in your body!
At Blanco Circle Dental Care, Dr. Gary Klugman and Dr. Christina Bianco provide quality general, cosmetic and sedation dentistry services. Our Salinas, CA dental office serves patients from Hollister, Monterey, Seaside, Prunedale, Marina, Greenfield, Gilroy, and King City. Call us today to schedule your next appointment.

The Benefits of Sedation Dentistry
March 18, 2014
For people who have a fear about going to the dentist, getting routine dental work done can be quite a battle. Because dental fears are some of the most common fears people live with, Dr. Gary Klugman and Dr. Christina Bianco are able to calm their patients’ woes by offering sedation dentistry. There are many benefits to sedation dentistry, and we want to remind you of them in case you feel as though you would be able to benefit.
One of the benefits to sedation dentistry is the fact that it helps people overcome their fears. Some people’s fears of the dentist are so strong, they refuse to even get a routine cleaning. Having a mild sedative can really help people get their much needed dental work done. Another benefit is that your body is able to heal quicker and more efficiently. When your body is under high stress and anxiety, your body is not able to do even the most natural of functions as healing itself. When you are relaxed, your body is able to do what it needs to do in order for you to start feeling better quicker.
Sedation dentistry is also beneficial to those who wish to save money. When you are sedated, the dentist is able work longer and gets more work done. When you go in for multiple appointments, it can greatly increase the amount of money that you spend, as well as prolong your healing time. There are so many ways sedation dentistry can be beneficial to our patients, but if you’d like to make an appointment to see how it can help you, contact us today!

Tooth-Colored Fillings Can Change Your Smile!
January 22, 2014

At Blanco Circle Dental Care, we are here to make sure your smile looks exactly the way you want it to, which is why we offer tooth-colored fillings.
There are many reasons why people choose tooth-colored fillings. One of the more popular reasons is because tooth-colored fillings help you avoid the look of having a mouth full of metal. Many people want a more natural look when it comes to their dental work, and tooth-colored fillings are able to give you that look. Blanco Circle Can Help You with Root Canals
January 8, 2014
Regardless of what you may have heard, root canals get rid of your pain; they do not cause pain. An infected tooth not only causes an immense amount of pain, but can be more of an expensive investment down the road if nothing is done. At Blanco Circle Dental Care, we want to make sure we take care of all of your dental needs, and Dr. Klugman and Dr. Bianco is able help you along that journey!
Having a root canal done not only helps in getting rid of your pain, but it also benefits your teeth. A root canal is performed when there is an infected or decayed tooth, and the decomposition has to be removed before it gets any worse. The doctors commence your root canal by accessing the infected tooth, and removing the pulp. When the tooth is infected, it also infects the pulp of the tooth, causing it to exacerbate. Once the pulp of the tooth is removed, our doctors will fill the tooth with a tooth-colored filling, and top it with a crown to prevent any further corruption. In the end, you’re left feeling refreshed and in better oral health!
When you leave your teeth infected, not only can your mouth get worse, but it can affect you in other areas of your body. By delaying getting a root canal, the bacteria infecting your teeth can enter your blood stream, possibly causing destruction to the rest of your body. It’s better to take care of your oral issues sooner rather than later or it may get worse! If you’re wondering how Dr. Klugman or Dr. Bianco can help you by performing a root canal, contact our office and make an appointment!

Crown and Bridge Restorations Can Replace Missing Teeth
September 11, 2013
Missing teeth can occur for a variety of reasons, including damage and decay. No matter the reason why this has occurred, it’s important to replace your missing teeth to restore health and function to your smile. At Blanco Circle Dental Care, we can accomplish this with a crown and bridge restoration.
Crown and bridge restorations are a good way to replace one or a few missing teeth that are in a row. The missing teeth will be replaced with crowns that are anchored to a bridge, allowing for a secure attachment to your smile. The bridge uses the surrounding healthy teeth to serve as anchors to help stabilize and hold the bridge restoration in place.
Whether you’re missing one or a few teeth, it’s important to replace them as soon as possible because you’re leaving the rest of your teeth at risk. We can use a crown and bridge restoration to replace missing teeth and restore your smile. You’ll be able to chew, eat and speak normally once again. Without this important restorative dental procedure, there’s added stress placed on your remaining teeth and they will try to shift out of position to fill the gaps. Give us a call today to learn more about crown and bridge restorations and see how we can help improve your smile.
